Patricia Bagwell Roach

ROACH, Patricia Bagwell Roach, 82, died Tuesday, Mar. 19, 2013 at her home in Atlanta, Ga. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James E. Roach Jr. She was born in Jacksonville, Fla. to Elizabeth O. and Ralph Bagwell. She spent her entire life in Atlanta with the exception of her first three months as an infant in Jacksonville and 15 months as a bride in Milwaukee, Wis. Mrs. Roach has four children: Cecilia A. Roach of Atlanta; J. Daniel (wife Joanne) Roach of Fernandina Beach, Fla.;  Michael J. Roach of Fernandina Beach, Fla; and Mary E. Roach of Conyers, Ga. She cherished her five grandchildren: Kristin Roach of Winston-Salem, NC; Daniel (wife Ashley) Roach, Dresden Roach, Breanna Roach and Wyatt Roach, all of Fernandina Beach, Fla. Pat’s faith was her primary focus, and she served on the Our Lady of the Assumption Church’s Women’s Guild and Financial Committee. She was devoted to her family and to her parish. She credited the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, who taught her at Christ the King School in Atlanta, with her joyful spirit. She was grateful for the “Thursday Faithful” who played bridge together for more than 50 years. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a rosary following at H. M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road in Brookhaven. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 1350 Hearst Dr.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
