
Lt. Col. Pembroke "Pem" Whitfield Williams Jr. passed away February 24th, 2015 at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, Georgia. His family was with him in his last hours. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bunny Williams, his two sons Pembroke Whitfield Williams III (Whit) and Preston Allen Williams (spouse Christine Williams), his daughter, Kristin Williams, his grandson, Henry Logan Williams (Hank), his granddaughter, Bridget Williams, his sisters, Mary Williams and Bobby Anderson, and brother, Garland Williams (Winky). Pem grew up as a member of the Atlanta Yacht Club, enrolled in the U.S. Army, and received two bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering and microbiology. He met his wife at West Georgia College in 1975 and was married in 1979. Pem worked as an electrical engineer and worked primarily at Welker & Associates & PBS&J before forming his own company, Williams Consulting in 2009. He filled his later years participating in activities of the Atlanta Yacht Club including helping conduct races and restoring his boat. He also spent a fair amount of time working on his golf swing in hopes of winning the Goose Poop Open trophy and playing Legos with his grandson, Hank. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28th at 2 o’clock at Oglethorpe Hill Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted, or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at H.M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319.
