Peter B. Brookner

Peter is survived by his wife, Johanna “Toni” Brookner; three sons: Donovan Young, Jamison Young and Adam Brookner; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Blanche Brookner; and sister, Joan.

Peter was the son of a doctor and grew up in the shadow of Yankee Stadium, where he graduated from NYU with a degree in economics, eventually moving to Chicago where he met Johanna. Tired of Chicago winters, they moved to Atlanta and started a flooring business. Then known as Redi-Floors, it eventually became the largest flooring company in the southeast. He had an unparalleled mind for business and was well known for speaking truth to power. He is well missed by family and friends and remains highly loved and respected in our memories.
