Robert Vance Brawley III

Robert Vance Brawley III, born on April 14, 1971, departed us on June 8, 2025, at his home in Chamblee, Georgia. Known as Vance, he was an enthusiastic lover of the arts, a dedicated owner of many beloved pets, an avid concertgoer, and a great friend to many over the course of his life.

Vance’s first job in entertainment at Turner Classic Movies in Atlanta was one of many ways he fostered his love of the performing arts. He went on to work at The Recording Academy, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the Motion Picture and Television Fund, and Sony Music Entertainment. Frequently seen with a cup of coffee in his hand and a big smile, Vance created a wealth of warm moments and fond memories among those who knew him.

Vance was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Thorne Brawley. He is survived by his husband, Jay Daly; mother-in-law, Bronwyn Young; mother, Jessie Smith (Garrett); father, R. Vance Brawley, Jr. (Hessie); brother, Hunter; sister, Jessie McKellar (Clinton); niece, Marian McKellar; nephew, Lucas McKellar; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Atlanta Humane Society. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road Ne, Atlanta, GA 30319.
