Mrs. Ruth Potts

Ruth Whitten Potts passed peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2015. She was born May 10, 1919 in Florence, AL, and was the daughter of James Allen and Mamie Jones Whitten. Ruth graduated from the University of North Alabama. She is predeceased by her parents, sister Louise W. Yates, and her husband of seventy years, Joe Frederic Potts. Mrs. Potts is survived by her daughter Jo Ann (Mal) Wilkinson; son Jim (Susan) Potts; grandchildren Cary (Morgan) Potts, Ann Whitten (Tom) Bourne, John (Kelly) Wilkinson, and Jane Wilkinson; step-grandchildren Trey (Sally) Kilpatrick, and Will (Megan) Kilpatrick; and, great-grandchildren Lea and Walker Bourne, Rolan and Charlie Potts, Whitney and Davis Wilkinson, and Mary Stephen Kilpatrick. A family service will be held at Northside United Methodist Church on Wednesday April 29th at 2:00 pm.
