She married her soulmate, Robert “Bob” Schultz, and they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on November 27, 2024. She received degrees from the University of Texas and the University of North Texas. She found immense joy as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Volunteer work was important to her and a significant part of her life. Before becoming ill, she spent many years being an active volunteer in her children’s schools, in various charity and civic organizations, with St. Vincent de Paul, nationally and at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas, and as a PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) member and officer for 25+ years.
Sam was preceded in death by her son, Bradley Schultz.
Sam is survived by her husband, Bob, children Robby (Danielle) Schultz and Erin Schultz, grandchildren Sophia and Z Kaminaris and Caroline and Reid Schultz, brother Danny (Diana) Cubriel, and numerous beloved family members and friends.
Visitation will be on December 18 from 3 pm to 5 pm at HM Patterson – Oglethorpe at 4550 Peachtree St. NE. Rosary service will immediately follow the visitation.
The funeral will be on December 19 at 10 am at The Cathedral of Christ the King at 2699 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, Georgia. An honor guard of 4th Degree Knights of Columbus will provide an escort for Sam at the Cathedral. Interment will be held privately at a later date at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Since charity work was such an essential part of Sam’s life, she requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society (at any Catholic church), CURE Childhood Cancer, or to a charity or library of your own choice.
The Schultz family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the numerous medical professionals who have helped our wife and mother find comfort these last few months.
