

William Shane, a resident of Atlanta, Georgia, died on January 24, 2014. Born on September 17, 1971, he was the son of William Lamar Dobes and Martha Husmann Dobes. Shane attended the Rectory School and Avon Old Farms School where he was a member of the wrestling and tennis teams. He obtained a diploma from the Georgia State University College of Arts and Sciences in 1998, and attended the Portfolio Center, graduating in 2009. He is survived by his parents, his wife, Kathryn Thornton Dobes, his two sons, William Thornton Dobes, age 5, and August Grant Dobes, age 2, his sister, Alison Dobes Key, her husband, Tom Key, his nieces, Margaret Campbell Key and Sara Stewart Key, his aunt, Cory Husmann Carter, his uncle, Hugo Carter, his mother and fathers in law, Judith Stone and Cleveland Thornton, Arlene Albert and Mark Richie, his sisters-in-law, Jessica Smith and Andrea Fau, and his many Glover cousins in Newnan, Georgia. Shane was a loyal and loving father, husband and friend, and will be sorely missed. He was always one to bring a smile to a room with his easygoing, kind demeanor and catchy, recognizable laugh. He loved to play with his sons and exhibited great loyalty to his family and friends, whose lives he brightened. A service will be held at H.M. Patterson and Son, 1020 Spring Street, Spring Hill Chapel, on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:00 am. The family will receive guests following the service.
