Becca and I have enjoyed her forever pretty smile and friendly wave as she passed.  It has been a pleasure to be a small part of her life the past few years.

What a truly beautiful lady inside and out. No one was any kinder or more thoughtful than Winnie. My life was enriched by her friendship.

I can't think of another person who has been as kind and generous in their life as my Aunt Winnie.  And, as much fun. I have so many good memories of the years we got to play croquet on her lawn, catch fireflies and drink Coca-Colas, Dr. Peppers and iced teas she fixed for us on those warm San Antonio nights.  She was quick to laugh and to look for the good in everyone. 

Then later, as an adult, I got to know Winnie on a more serious level.  She discussed her feelings and was more than willing to be interested in your life, too. 

Winnie was a one-in-a-million friend.  Her spirit is free of the body that, though she wore it well, finally needed to be left behind.

I, like my sisters and Mom, just received a Christmas card today (11/18/16) which Winnie had apparently requested be mailed out by Sharon, her daughter.  When I opened it and saw it was from Winnie, I started crying.  I will never forget her.

Aunt Winnie holds a special place in my heart.  She always called me Jeanne Michele and I felt honored by it.  A vacancy will be felt in all our lives one way or another.  I feel blessed by her faithful, Christian example that she showed me over the years.  We mourn for our loss of her on earth, but Heaven has gained a new star!  Jeanne Michele Jandreau McDaniel

Sharon, Chip, Bobby and family, I am so Sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Newell and my Prayers are with all of  you for Grace and Comfort in your Loss. I am certain she is with Our Lord and Alton in Heaven and Paradise now. She lived such a powerful Christian Life and I am forever Grateful to Have Known Her and All Of You.
