Ms. Amy Sue Stevens age 86, of Boaz passed away Sunday, January 16th at Albertville Rehab Select Center for Rehabilitation. Funeral Service will be Wednesday January 19th at 3:30 pm in Morgan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dustin Taylor officiating, burial will follow in Rainbow Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm until the hour of service.
Sue was born in Fyffe and left Alabama at age 16. After living and working with her sister in Detroit for eight years, she moved To Los Angeles, where she worked in the electronics industry for 28 years before returning to Alabama in 1986. Devastated by the 1987 stroke, Sue had to learn everything all over again just like she was in school. Ironically part of her recovery regime for the woman who attended "Painter" Elementary School as a child became painting. Sue lived at Manor House in Boaz for 34 years loving every minute and didn't wish to live any other place. Sue will be missed by all.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents James Perry and Ludicy Jones Stevens, brothers J.V. Stevens, Sam Stevens, Ray Stevens, Clyde Stevens, Glenn Stevens, Winfred Stevens and her sisters Jewel Stevens, Nell Swiney and Janie Dobbins. Sue leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her special niece Miss Lisa Stevens who was as close as a daughter to Sue and could always make her smile.
Our family has a special place in our heart for her caregivers and friends Dr. Ewing, Denise Worley RN, Covid Unit Albertville Rehab Select, Amedisys Home Health PT Casey and Bambi, Mary Brewster, Gary Turner, Jessica Stevens, Boaz Senior Citizens Center, Tracy Stevens, Darryl Dobbins, Rhonda Johnson, Regina Davidson, Judy Cochran and Karen Swiney.
