

Memorial services for Ana Maria Chambers, age 77 of Southside who passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Tommy Hays officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Ana Maria was born in Santiago, Chile. She attended the University of Chile and worked and retired from the Chilean Congress. She married C.G. (Jerry) Chambers, together with her two daughters, moved to Southside, Alabama in 1984. She spent many years involved in community service, church and doing mission work.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Antonio and Pilar Sanchez; husband, C.G. (Jerry) Chambers; two sisters: Olga Figueroa and Nona Ferrada; and her son-in-law, Shannon Smith.
Survivors include her two daughters: Lorena Phillips and Denisse Smith; grandsons: Blake (Bre) Phillips and Austin Lumpkin; sisters: Toya and Rosa Sanchez; brothers: Enrique Sanchez and Tuco Sanchez; a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved God Son and nephew, Fabian Lagos (Pamela and Leonardo); her lifelong friend, Celina Ruiz, bonus daughters: Becky Shadrix and Cindy Humphrey. Special friends: Makenzi Dunn and Catherine McBurnett among many other friends.
Urn bearers will be Blake Phillips and Austin Lumpkin.
Honorary Urn bearers are the home health and hospice staff that cared for her.
