Betty Jo Thrasher

Betty Jo Thrasher, 74, of Altoona, passed away on January 17, 2023. Visitation will be on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 12-2 with service beginning at 2 at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla with a graveside service to follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Chris "Arlo" Guthery and Joey Jones to officiate.

Betty had such a loving and generous spirit. She would do anything for anyone and never met a stranger. She retired from HD Lee Company in Boaz. She was a member of Riddles Bend Baptist Church and loved her church family. She enjoyed coloring but her greatest treasures were her family, especially her grandsons.

Preceded in death by her parents, James O. Johnson and Pauline Hall Johnson; brother in laws Larry Keener, Sam Stafford, and Frank Thompson; nephew John Wesley Keener

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 46 years Richard Thrasher, daughter Jennie (Arlo) Guthery; grandsons Grant Guthery and Aidan Guthery; sister Esther (Jimmy) Thrasher; brother George (Smiley) Johnson; sister in laws Mary Keener, Linda Stafford, and Diane Thompson; many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Grant Guthery, Aidan Guthery, Tyler Palomares, Michael Ezzell, Harold Stafford, Dewayne Hare, Jeff Thompson, and Paul Loy

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Thrasher, Dale Ezzell, William Attaway, and John Wayne Bryant

Flowers will be accepted or donations to your favorite charity.

Special thanks given to Huntsville Heart Center especially Dr. Gautam Reddy, Dr. Alvin Tenchavez and Staff, Huntsville Hospital staff, Emory Hospital of Atlanta especially Dr. Greenbaum, CenterWell Home Health, and Shepherds Cove Hospice.
