

Carolyn Burgess Campbell, 93, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on April 15th, 2026.Born on July 21st, 1932, she was a lifelong resident of Etowah County and a 1950 graduate of Etowah High School. Carolyn’s life was a testament of the hands and feet of Jesus. She was an active member of Grace Bible Church, serving on the hospitality committee, housing missionaries throughout the years, and doing volunteer work in the nursery. She also volunteered for many years as a counselor at Save a Life Ministry, where she rescued a tremendous number of babies' lives through her counseling.
Her enjoyment in life was found in reading and studying the Word of God, fervently praying for every member of her family, and cooking delicious meals for her loved ones and church family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jeff and Bertha Burgess, brothers, Elton Burgess and Max Burgess (Pauline).
She is survived by her loving husband of seventy-six years, Durwood Campbell, son Charles Campbell (Annette), and daughter Cherie Campbell Partridge (Steve). Grandchildren: Beth Campbell Babin (Derek), Carla Campbell Weaver (Jason), Campbell Partridge (Abby), Baylor Partridge, and Caroline Partridge. Great Grandchildren: Layne Babin, Lauren Weaver, Anna Scott Weaver, and Brooks Partridge. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be Saturday April 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Pastor Tim Wallace will be officiating the service. Pallbearers will be Campbell Partridge, Baylor Partridge, Steve Partridge, Layne Babin, Derek Babin, and Jason Weaver.
The family would like to thank the fourth floor staff, nurses, and doctors of Riverview Regional Medical Center for the excellent care that was provided during this time. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Grace Bible Church Missions or the Etowah Pregnancy Testing Center.
