

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday February 16, 2018 at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection at 113 Brown Avenue Rainbow City AL 35906.
The family will receive friends for visitation for a half hour prior to the service in Friday, from 10:30 to 11 A.M.
Father Michael Goldsmith will officiate the service.
Burial will be in the adjoining memorial garden.
"Charlie" as he was known to his coworkers and friends was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He retired from Gulf States/Republic Steel after more than twenty five years and afterwards spent several years working with the maintenance department for Princeton Park Apartments. He enjoyed time spent on the greens at his favorite local golf course, Briarmeade and was an avid fan of Auburn football. Mr. Pearce was also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served his country in Vietnam where he earned several commendations and a Purple Heart.
Many of his loved ones preceded him in passing including his wife, Sandy Pearce; son, Dr. David Pearce; father, James J. "Sam" Pearce; and sister, Donna P. Scorey.
He leaves behind; Son, Charles James "Jamie" Pearce (Wife, Lesley). Mother, Frankie Pearce. Grandsons, Hayden and Colton Pearce. Granddaughters, Samantha, Kaitlyn and Hannah Pearce. Brother in law, Dr. George Scorey. Nephews, Bill Scorey (Wife, Mindi) and Steve Scorey (wife, Laura). Cousins, Phillip Head and Dr. G. Bruce Head. And beloved family pet, Matilda.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Honorary pallbearers will be his golfing friends at Briarmeade Golf Course.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of McGuffey's Healthcare and Gadsden Regional Medical Center (Seventh floor). Thanks as well to Dr. Castillo and Dr. Head for their compassionate care and guidance.
