Known to many as Aunt Cynthia, Grandma, and Mrs. Ledbetter, Cynthia was beloved by all who knew her. She was known for her remarkable talent as a seamstress. For many years, friends, family, and members of the community relied on her skilled hands for alterations, handmade dresses, and garments created for life’s most special moments. Her work was not only precise but done with care and love.
She was a longtime and devoted member of Falls Mountain Church, where she faithfully served by tending the nursery for many years. Caring for children brought her great joy and reflected her gentle and giving spirit.
In her free time, Cynthia could often be found in her flower beds, lovingly tending to her flowers. She took great pride in her yard and made sure that when the grass was mowed, no flowers—not even the wild ones—were disturbed. Her love for beauty and nature was evident to all who knew her.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil Lavone Ledbetter; her parents, Homer Morris Morgan and Mattie Bellew Morgan; and her siblings, William Morgan, Walter Morgan, DeWitt Morgan, Lou Shortnancy, Magnolia Scofield, and Johnny Morgan.
She is survived by her brother, Jesse Morgan (Teressa); her children, Cecil (Cathy) Ledbetter, Melton (Karen) Ledbetter, and Wayne (Barbara) Ledbetter; and her grandchildren, Melissa (Jon) Green, Mary Beth (Zach) Gilliland, Phillip (Kristie) Ledbetter, Whisper (Ben) Cornutt, Ashley (John) Daley, Storm Ledbetter, and Popi (Nathan) Snow. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Pallbearers will be her grandson, grandsons-in-law, and cherished friends.
