David Martin Compton

David Martin Compton 55, of Attalla passed away May 25, 2018. Funeral Service will be held at 2p.m. Tuesday May 29, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Brother Steve Helms will officiate. Burial will be at Conn Cemetery.

David was a gifted artist, photographer, and musician. He graduated from the Ringling School of Art with a degree in Illustration. He was an accomplished musician and songwriter, but if you were to ask him, his greatest priorities were his faith and his family. David was preceded in death by his father, Roy Compton; sister, Andra Estrella and brother, Trent Compton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Compton; children, Cameron (Cassidy) Compton, Carlie (Derek) York, Alex (Paige) Compton, Sydney (Jonathan) Wetzel, Noah Compton, and Sadie (Denzell) Batton; grandchildren, Cohen, Clementine, Julien, Elliot, Caspian, Holland, Jonah, Ezra, Shiloh, Magnolia and 2 on the way. Mother, Martha Compton Deerman; brothers, Roger (Tamessa) Compton, Scott (Terri) Compton, Greg (Kathy) Compton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and numerous other family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gadsden Museum of Art

Pallbearers will be Cameron Compton, Alex Compton, Noah Compton, Jonathan Wetzel, Denzell Batton, and Zack Compton. Honorary pallbearer will be Keaton Compton.

Visitation will be prior to the service Tuesday from 12 until 2p.m.
