Doris Beverly Pelkey (née Kelly) was born to Marion Jane Kelly (née Stewart) and Dale Levine Kelly on May 20, 1957 in San Bernardino, California.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael George Pelkey; and her sister, Deborah Whitehead.
She is survived by her children, Krystal Dawn Monroe, Jason Lee Monroe and Andrew Michael Pelkey; as well as her many grandchildren; her sisters, Paula Van Bibber, and Marilyn Marshall; and her brothers, Richard Kelly and Dale Kelly Jr.
She spent her life devoted to God, to her children, her grandchildren, her writing and her quilting. She had many hobbies over the years, to include breeding dogs, creating ceramics, and laughing with her family.
She was known for her sense of humor, her strength. She was beautiful, faithful, loving, precious, supportive. She loved God, her kids and her grandbabies more than anything.
She was a warrior in a tiny frame, who fought cancer in its various forms for over thirty years. Not just cancer though. As a police officer many years ago she also fought crime on the streets in Southern California and she was a writer with completed novels.
She remained faithful to God during her entire life and raised her kids to be faithful as well. She loved God so much. She was so excited to go home and be with her family in Heaven. Our family is brokenhearted, but comforted by the fact that she is no longer suffering. Family and dear friends will cherish her memory forever.
