Edward Lee was a long-time member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church. His working years were spent as a truck driver for Anniston Pipe Foundry. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he was a well-known community mechanic and could fix anything. He enjoyed watching Alabama football and Nascar. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and sitting on his front porch or out in his yard enjoying the sunshine, waving at the many people and friends that passed. Of all of his hobbies, the one he enjoyed the most were the times he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is one of fourteen children, and is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Myrtle Taylor; brothers, James Taylor, Billy Taylor, Ernest Taylor, Joe Taylor, and Gene Taylor; sisters, Nancy Bonner, Margaret Rich; as well as his beloved fur babies, Felix and Dixie.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori Ann Taylor; son-in-law, Mark Gamblin; sons, Larry Taylor (Rachel) and Garry Taylor; grandchildren, Enola Taylor Vaughn, Brett Taylor (Jaye Lyn), Leigh Pollock, Breanne Farr (Cody), and Brandi Rowan (Kevin); great-grandchildren, Kinsey Vaughn, Shane and Cora Lyn Taylor, Saige Pollock, Emerson and Hallie Farr, Atlee and Kullen Rowan; brothers, Ray Taylor, Johnny Taylor, and Dean Taylor; sisters, Linda Baker, Sally Golden, and Faye Green; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Mark Gamblin, Cody Farr, Kevin Rowan, Kullen Rowan, Jamie Taylor, and Jimmy Bundrum. Honorary pallbearer is Ray Taylor.
Special thanks to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, Dr. Chris Bailey, ProHealth Home Health; and caregivers, Connie, Angee and Heath.
