In his own words, spoken often, he would tell those who so loved him that he enjoyed a fantastic life. He grew up during a time when national, community and family values were truly wholesome and respected. Ed was blessed with the finest mother and father anyone could ever dream of. There had not been a day since they passed that he would speak to them and try to thank them for all that they did for him. Ed fully believed that he lived a rewarding, comfortable, and ideal life.
Ed retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department with over 34 years of service. He was most proud of the work he did and the people he helped. His love for law enforcement and those who work in public service and the military was without equal.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Eleven Lincoln Thatcher, his mother Oma Weldon Thatcher and his brother, Lee Thatcher.
Ed leaves behind his loving and adoring wife, Linda, along with her children and grandchildren whom Ed loved as his own. His son, Michael and his wife (Carolyn) and their two adult children along with his daughter, Sandra Bemis, and her two adult children. He so loved and possessed immense pride for each of his children and grandchildren.
Ed was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all of those who did love him and enjoy the pleasure of knowing him.
