Erskine Baker

Erskine Baker, age 77, of Altoona, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Erskine was born in Alabama on November 4, 1945. Services will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla, Alabama on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 2 P.M. Public visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until time of service. Burial will follow at Pine View FCM Church Cemetery in Altoona, Alabama. Richard Hackney to officiate.

Erskine Baker was a man of many names. Known to many as Buddy, Pawpaw Buddy, Pappy, and even Leroy to some. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and neighbor. Buddy devoted over 35 years to Wayne Farms. He enjoyed raising his cattle, watching old westerns, and chewing his favorite tobacco. He loved his life and he loved the people in it. Buddy was truly a man with a pure spirit and a kind heart.

Preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ruby Baker; his siblings, Ray, Don, Bob, and Buck Baker, Wynell Hanes; and his wife Denise Baker.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Kert) Parker; granddaughters, Kelsey (Matt) Clenney, and Lexi Thomas; siblings, Faye Duffie, Linda Coots, Carolyn (Dwight) Amos, and Auther Baker; numerous nieces and nephews including Tina Armstrong, Teresa Rea, Greg Duffie, David Baker, Dena Jones, Johnny Baker and more.

Pallbearers will be Paul Socie, Ricky Thorton, Johnny Baker, David Baker, Kyle Greer and Matt Greer.
