Gary James Belyeu

Funeral Services for Gary J. Belyeu, age 70 of Southside, will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Julian Knight, Bro. Lauil Thompson and Bro. Chance Goodwin officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A private burial will follow at Williams-Southside cemetery.

Mr. Belyeu worked 30 years at Gadsden City Schools, Maintenance Department. Mr. Belyeu was an avid deer hunter and loved life, especially after making God his Lord and Savior. He never met a stranger, you would leave with a smile or likely an outburst of laughter. He enjoyed spending time with the Jack’s Breakfast Round Table crew.

He was preceded in death by father, Irby Lamar Belyeu; mother, Mary Nell Pruitt Williams; brothers: Johnny Belyeu, Randy Belyeu and Jimmie Lee Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Libby Johnson Belyeu; sons: Christopher (Bonnie) Belyeu and Gregory (Dedra) Belyeu; sister, Sheila Toole; brothers: Jerry (Karen) Williams and Michael (Odessa) Williams; sisters-in-law: Cindy Williams, Wanda Belyeu and Martha Stewart; grandsons: Cody (Mallorie) Belyeu, Dylan, Presley and Brayden; great grandsons: Oliver and Aiden Belyeu; mother-in-law, Mary Johnson; step granddaughter, Meagan Hall; a host of nieces & nephews and his fur babies: Gabby, Little Bit and Mr. Kitty.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Goodwin, Alan Jones, Randy Burns, Tony Edwards, Donnie Toole and Brian Perkins.

Honorary pallbearers are David Kirkland, Jeff Harwood, Randy Lyles and Gadsden City School Maintenance Dept.

Special thanks to Dr. Jason Ayres and staff, Encompass Home Health-nurses, Jennifer and Sarah; Southern Care New Beacon Hospice-Glenda, Hannah, Shirley and Jon; Dr. Markert, Neurosurgery and UAB Radiation Oncology, Dr. Markus Bredel, Hematology, Dr. Moh’d Khushman.
