Gary "Big Mac" McDaniel

Funeral Services for Mr. Gary “Big Mac” McDaniel, age 67 of Rainbow City, will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Bro. Danny Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McDaniel passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. Born and raised in Alabama, he graduated from Emma Sampson High school in 1973. He worked many years as a Millwright at Goodyear Tire & Rubber upon his retirement. Mr. McDaniel worked as a lifeguard at the YMCA and Highland pool for many years and coached youth football and baseball throughout the 90’s. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and member of the Rainbow City Coin Club. Mr. McDaniel was a family man, he loved everyone and always put them first.

He is survived by his wife, Patti McDaniel, his son, Jeremy McDaniel (Katie), all of Rainbow City, his brother, Steve McDaniel (LeAnne), his grandchildren, Madison and Avery, his nephew, Josh McDaniel, and a host of extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge and Nina McDaniel.

Active Pallbearers will be: Mike Minyard, Kyle Minyard, Justin Minyard, Grady Chambers, Audie Irvine, Bradley Grogan, Charles Payne, Ricky Hill and Rodney Bell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dennis Bone, Michael Bell, the Rainbow City Coin Club and Joe Don Nelson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Riddles Bend Baptist Church in his honor.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 11:30 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.
