

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00. Burial will be at Steele Cemetery following the service. Rev. Steve Lucy will be officiating services.
Jackie was born September 15, 1937, and was raised in Whorton Bend. Jackie was a 1956 graduate of Southside High School. She married the love of her life, Bob Abrams on June 8, 1957, and was a devoted and faithful wife for 58 years. Jackie raised her family and has resided in Steele for almost 65 years. She was a longtime member of Steele United Methodist Church where she enjoyed attending and singing in the choir. She was currently a member of Steele Baptist Church. She greatly adored her church family.
Everyone who knew her knew what a giving and caring woman she was. She had a love for sending cards to everyone she knew and her church family, whether it was a get well card or just to say hello. She was also a dedicated supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Known as “Granny” to most everyone in her community, she welcomed and cared for many children inside her home. Other hobbies included canning, which she was famous for making the best dill pickles, gardening, and tending to her flowers. The outdoors filled her heart with joy. The words “Hard Worker” would not come close to describing her. She also enjoyed accompanying her husband on Saturdays to Collinsville Trade Day for over 50 years. There they made many lifelong friends.
Jackie is preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Melvin Kilgore, mother, Willie Sue Kilgore, brother, Thomas Melvin Kilgore, husband, Robert Frank Abrams Sr. “Bob”, father and mother-in-law, Hobson Ollie Abrams “Abe”, Frances Margaret Powell Abrams “Mamie”, and brother-in-law, Bobby McDonald.
She is survived by her sister, Martha McDonald; children, Kathy (Randy) Rhodes, Frank (Cheryl) Abrams, Mark (Kathy) Abrams; grandchildren, Emily (Vince) Starling, Brittany (Zac) Megois, Zach (Mary Beth) Gilliland and Connor Abrams; great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Weston Starling, Mattie Ruth, Lynleigh, and Beckett Gilliland, and Briggs and Romy Megois. She also leaves behind a bountiful number of friends and chosen family.
Pallbearers are Vince Starling, Zac Megois, Zach Gilliland, Connor Abrams, Clay Taylor, and Chad Smith.
Honorary pallbearers, Weston Starling, Briggs Megois, and Matt Sims.
In honor of her legacy, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
