James was... As I sit here trying to think about James that is just it... James was. He was a father. He was a grandfather. He was the husband to the woman who helped raise me. He was a motorcycle rider. He was a teacher. He was a mechanic. He was a craftsman. He was a handyman. He was a hunter. He was a provider. He was a hard worker. He was a lawn specialist. He was a friend to watch a movie with. He was a Yatzy player. He was one of my biggest fans of Friday nights. I could go on and on but he was all of this things to me. He was one of the men who made me the man who I am today. I can’t speak for anyone else but James Harris made an incredible impact on my life and I hope things I learned from him I can past onto my own kids and others. This man was more than just... this man was...

Our family has known James for over
20 years. We all loved James for he was 
a wonderful  Grandfather figure in
Blake and Lance’s life. He taught them 
so many lessons in life. He showed them
how to be men of integrity through his warm and caring spirit of love and support. He loved Joy and the day she had her hart attack he knew just 
what to do . That day James’ name should 
Have been  James  (Hope ) Harris for with out his quick thinking the doctors said 
that he would have lost his special (Joy)
in his life. Blake and Lance are grown men today . James without you and Joy’s influence Blake and Lance would not have
Become the men that they are with families of their own. 
Thanks James for just being you!
We don’t know just why you had to go 
this way .We do know the love
of God went with you that day and He knows all the answers.  I am praying 
for your Special JOY and Baby Girl.
For I know they miss you so much.

Sometimes someone comes into your life that changes it. James and Joy are two of those people.  I am so glad that I got to know him. He loved his wife Joy so much.  They both loved the children that they cared for over the years. He will be missed dearly. I will miss him about 9:00 every night , both of us  walked our dogs about that time. I will miss hearing him talk to Baby Girl in the yard. He loved her and Rocky so much. Rest in peace James, I will continue to look after Joy like you asked.

We knew James for almost 15 years and we will miss him so much. My son especially. There are so many memories he will always cherish of the times they spent together. We are praying for comfort and peace for his family. Until we meet again, you are always in our hearts.
