Janice was born on December 2, 1967, and was a devoted mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother and loved by many. Above all, she cherished her family. Being a mother was one of her proudest roles and she loved her children deeply. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she truly shined. “Granny” was a title she wore with honor. She taught by example, showing her family what it meant to love fiercely and trust in God always.
Preceded in death: her parents, Robert L. and Jessie Mae Colvin, her husband, Freddie Ward, her siblings, Kathryn Colvin, Robert (Pee-Wee) Colvin, and Oscar Colvin, and her life partner of 19 years, Jamey Harden.
Survived by: Christopher S. Carter, Kala D’Agati (Matthew), Whitney Ward. Grandchildren; Matthew Allen, Savannah Pankey, Breanna Pankey. Great-grandchildren: Seth Allen and Thomas Martin. Her brothers, Jimmy (Debbie), George (June), Billy (Margie), Vic, Homer (Terrie), Leslie (Jodi), Roger (Barbara), Jeff (Beverly), Moe (Tracy). A host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Janice’s (Sissy’s) loving brothers.
Honorary Pallbearers: Will be her nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to ACG Hospice (Jordan) Foley and ACG of Gadsden who took such good care of our mother during such a difficult time.
