Jerry, a member of Southside Baptist Church, was a man of integrity and a child of God.
He started working at a very young age to help his mother provide for the family during bleak times. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman. Following service, he worked at Goodyear until retirement at which time he was able to enjoy over 30 years on the Coosa River with the love of his life.
Jerry was an expert hunter and fisherman. He made many trips out west and hunted in Shoal Creek Valley. He also spent countless hours fishing on the Coosa and on trips with his fishing buddies.
Jerry and Jean loved to travel, taking numerous trips with their friends. They also loved taking the grandchildren to the Smoky Mountains and the beach.
Jerry loved his many friends and his in-laws. We will always treasure the memories of his dry wit and his love for us. He will be greatly missed.
