Joe "Fat Boy" Ramey

Funeral Services for Mr. Joe “Fat Boy” Ramey, age 68 of Attalla, will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Bro. Steve Lucy officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in the Egypt Community.

Mr. Ramey passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at his home. Born in Alabama, he loved being outside and enjoyed the outdoors, especially when he was riding his RZR. Mr. Ramey also enjoyed spending time with his family and shooting guns with his friends. He was a member of Snap Fitness in Attalla, and was very diligent with his workout routine. An Avid Alabama football fan, Mr. Ramey was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend that will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim Gray (Cody), his sister, Debra Stone (Greg), his brothers, Donnie Ramey (Donna) and Thomas Ramey, his granddaughter, Kaci Gray, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar “Red” Ramey, his mother, Ruth Vaughn Parish, his step-father, Roland “Roro” Parish and his son, Joey Ramey.

Active Pallbearers will be Michael Knight, David Lemons, Tony Lemley, Johnny Steapleton, Wes Sizemore and Mason Caldwell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Battles, Jimmy Johnson and Julie Phillips.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sheriff Jonathan Horton, a host of first responders and the nephrology group of Regional Clinic.
