Joseph Todd Daniel, 61, of Attalla, Alabama passed from his earthly life into his heavenly one on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Todd was born July 25, 1962 in Jacksonville, Florida but moved to Attalla as a young child where he lived for the entirety of his life. Todd passed away way too soon from complications due to a brief illness with pancreatic cancer.
Todd graduated from Etowah County High School, where he was a talented member of the drum line. Todd received his Associates Degree in Electrical Technology after high school. Todd’s love of music served him well while in high school, as he started playing with his first cover band called France. His musical career would span over two decades with three different bands. His two most popular bands were Tomboy, followed by The Bucks. They traveled all over the southeast playing in popular night spots, along with fraternity and sorority parties.
After his music career, Todd put his managerial skills from the bands to use with several local businesses in the Attalla/Gadsden areas. These would include the Gadsden Country Club, Walmart, and Publix Deli Department, just to name a few.
Todd had a personality larger than life, and rarely met a stranger. He was a talented musician, playing the drums and the guitar. He was an old soul in a lot of ways; he was very sentimental and he was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved snow skiing, Auburn football, the Braves and enjoyed all the finer things in life. Nothing gave him more pleasure than to get dressed up for a special event or dinner out. He was loved by many, and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Henry and Lilly Stonlcher, and JB and Lucille Daniel; his father (who taught him his love for motorcycles) Joseph Wendell Daniel, and twin infants.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Judith Stonlcher Daniel, and his sister Ellen Daniel Crane Robinson (Glenn), all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; niece Kelton Crane Naler (Cody) of Attalla, Alabama; nephews Camryn Crane (Denise) and Casen Crane, all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and two great nieces Josie and Cali Naler also of Attalla, Alabama; as well as brother in law, Bryan Crane of Attalla.
There will be no public service; the family will have their own private memorial service. If you knew Todd he could be very private, so the family would like you to celebrate Todd on your own by raising a glass, having a beer, listening to your favorite music, or enjoying a nice dinner-remembering him.
Arrangements are being handled by Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
