Linda Kathryn Compton

Funeral services will be Sunday April 19th 2026 at 4pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 2001 Noccalula Road for Linda Compton, (85), Gallant, who passed away on April 15th at 6:50am; at home.

Ms. Compton will lie in state at the church 2 hours prior to the service. The Gadsden Ward Bishopric will preside. Burial will be in Conn Cemetery on Gallant Road. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory is directing.

Linda was a wedding coordinator for over 40 years and was known as “Miss Linda” to all those whose wedding she helped plan. She was a graduate of “The Association of Bridal Consultants”. She was proficient in all aspects of weddings including catering, floral design, and directing. She especially loved photography where she photographed over 250 weddings. She had her own wedding shop known as “The Flower Room” for many years, then she was the wedding coordinator at “Ferguson Wedding Chapel” for over 20 years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved her church and enjoyed serving in many capacities therein. She also enjoyed working in areas where her children were involved, such as school and church activities.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Preston Compton, and her parents Carl and Jo Randall.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Anita (Jeff) Davis, St. George, Utah; daughter, Mary Compton, Gallant; son Joseph Compton, Gallant; son Michael (Alena) Compton, Overland Park, Kansas; 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons.

Visitation at the church 2 to 4 on the day of the funeral.
