Michael A Ridens

Michael (Paw Paw) Allen Ridens, from Gadsden, Alabama, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the age of 61. Born to Lew Allen Jr and Louise Ridens on August 10, 1962 in Evansville, Indiana. Michael was an only child. After graduating from high school in 1981 from South Spencer High School in Rockport, Indiana, he married his high school sweetheart, Lori Patterson, and started their family soon after. In 1987, Michael and Lori moved to Gadsden with their young children, and developed deep roots in Alabama. Michael worked in mechanics, but was a jack of all trades for over 40 years. He loved his family, and helped anyone who asked.

Michael is preceded in death by his loving parents, Lew Allen Jr and Louise Ridens. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lori Patterson Ridens; four children, Carmen McKiven (Michael), Andrea Goodwin (Dayton Gibson), Rosa Beth Latham (Brandon), and Brian Ridens (Faith Mintz); eighteen grandchildren, Todd McKiven, Jacob McKiven, Trinity McKiven, Shayna Ashley, Haley Goodwin, Brittany Faulk, Brandon Latham Jr, Emma Grace Strong, Julie Latham, Aaron Latham, Greggory Ridens, Derrick Barnes, Tyler Ridens, Levi Ridens, Emleigh Ridens, Zina Ridens, Izabella Ridens, and Landon Ridens; four great grandchildren, Athena, Ireland, Xander, and Sam; and special friend Stephanie Johnson.

Services will be held at 2p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Morgan Funeral Home in Attalla, Alabama with Reverend Tammy Hicks Jackson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 until 2p.m.

Burial at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
