

Funeral Service will be at 12pm Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 until 12pm.
Burial will be at 11am EST on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Eastview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA.
Miles was born in Atlanta, GA and graduated high school from Roosevelt High in 1952. He then graduated from Auburn's Engineering program in 1957, Delta Chi fraternity. He had a long full career as an engineer at Sperry Rand and Redstone Arsenal with there NASA contracts working on several Apollo spacecraft and the Space Shuttle, GE Magic Chef (Anniston) and Mid South (Gadsden). And even an original patent for Tap Connection for Multi-Conductor Cables in November 1975.
He played softball and coached many girls softball teams. He was an avid bowler and deep sea fisherman. He also loved his Auburn family and watching football. He was always ready to take me and my best friend to a concert. He never met a stranger and was always ready to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his daughters, Dora-Lynn Thomas (Kenneth) of Rainbow City, Gail Barnett of Gadsden; sister, Marcelyn Nash of Utah and grandchildren, Miles Lanier Thomas and Layla Alise Thomas.
