Patsy McClendon Battles

Our precious wife and mother, Patsy McClendon Battles left this broken world for a perfect one Tuesday, July 20, 2021. She now sees her Heavenly Father face to face. The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation on Thursday night July 22, 2021 from 6 until 8p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church Gallant at 2p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021, with burial in Gallant Cemetery following. Rev. Jeff Rowan will officiate. Mrs. Battles will lie in state at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Battles was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Bessie Chandler McClendon; brothers, Julius, Frank, Eugene, Louie, and Jimmy McClendon; father and mother in law, Morris and Gussie Battles.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ronald Battles; their 50th wedding anniversary would have been on August 20th. She also leaves behind her children, Rhonda (Jonathan) Ford, and Jason (Vanessa) Battles; grandchildren, Ella and Alex Ford and Mason and Caleb Battles; sister, Annie Lee Cannon; brother, Donald (Melba) McClendon; sister in laws, Deborah Golden, Dorothy McClendon, and Eunice McClendon; brother in law, Danny Golden; and beloved nieces and nephews.

Active and Honorary Pallbearers will be Chip Cannon, Roger Cannon, Max Hilburn, Steve McClendon, Roger Campbell, Dwight Rusk, Jarrid Traylor, Jon Wright, Butch Denny, Chandler Huff, and Matthew McClendon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society, National Heart Association, St. Jude’s Hospital, and Diabetes Foundation.
