Peggy was born in Attalla, Alabama to Disque and Lorene Samples who preceded her in death as did her brother, Joseph Samples and her sister, Becky Samples. She was raised in Attalla along with her brother, William (Diane) Samples and sister, Shawnee (Danny) Rubrigi. Left to cherish her memories are husband of fifty-three years, Dr. John Davis and her daughters, Jennifer (Terry) Turk and Anna (Adam) Stimpson. Peggy was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nanny. Her grandchildren Jay Turk, Cody Turk, Josie Turk, and Reed Stimpson meant everything to her. They brought so much joy and light into her world, and she loved telling everyone of their individual accomplishments. Her unconditional love extended to her nieces, Karen (Charlie) Major, Suzanne (Kevin) Nance, and nephews Matthew (Stephanie) Samples and Jon Ross (Kim) Long. Peggy was a lifelong member of Cherry Street Baptist Church where she enjoyed being involved in church functions, especially decorating the church, and planning all the memorable married couple events.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all her caregivers, Dr. Evan Johnson and staff, Dr. Chellamuthu and staff, Nurse Jolene of Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, staff of Boaz Davita Dialysis, Altoona AMS, Rick’s Pharmacy, and a heartfelt thanks to caregiver Terri Patrick. A special thanks to Bro. Larry and Kaye Garrard, Bobby and Romanza Cline, Kay Cole, Ricky and Rita Amos, and other friends who made calls, texts, and provided food during her illness.
