Phillip Lance Penland

Phillip was born on January 15th, 1952, in Gadsden AL to Ralph Lester and Martha Elizabeth (Ware) Penland. Phillip graduated from Emma Samson High School and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University. Phillip practiced real estate appraising for over 40 years. He and his wife, Amanda Kay (Brown) Penland raised 3 daughters, Hayley Lynne Penland, Lindsey Anne White and Cammie Caye McFarling.

Phillip loved to spend his extra time on the golf course and loved sharing in his grandchildren’s accomplishments. He was very proud and loved his family very much!

Phillip was preceded in death by his father, R.L. Penland, his mother, Martha Elizabeth, and his sister, Nancy Penland. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Kay Penland, his three children, their husbands and his grandchildren: Hayley Penland and Jim Motes, Claire Cross, Ruby and Eli Motes, Lindsey, Sean and Connor White and Cammie, Jason, Jacob, Evan and Vivian McFarling.

The funeral will be Saturday, June 18th, 2022 at 10:30am. It will be a graveside service at Forest Cemetery, 700 South 15th Street, Gadsden, AL 35901.
