Quentis (Sonny) Morrison, age 85, of Rainbow City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 with his loving wife by his side. He was the son of PG and Elma Morrison. He grew up in Anniston, AL and graduated from Anniston High School before marrying the love of his life and joining the United States Air Force at the young age of 19. He raised his family in Gadsden, AL and was a member of Rainbow Presbyterian Church.
Sonny was known for his giving nature and also for his love for cars. He worked and retired from Republic Steel, all while running his car business, Country Boys Auto Sales (now Sims Motors). He rarely missed a day of being at the car lot, right up until his final days, just like he rarely missed a Sunday in church, listening to his beloved wife singing in the church choir. He was surrounded by family and loved ones in his final days and remembered for the way he selflessly gave and cared for the people he loved the most. His legacy will carry on through his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Morrison; sister, Betty (Henry) Shea; son, Tommy (Jennifer) Morrison; daughter, Karen (Mark) Jones; granddaughters, Jessica (Randy) Rintala, Kathryn (Michael) Lyons; grandson (and best friend) Quinn Morrison; and four great grandchildren, Ava, Raegan, Rachel and Rhett Rintala.
There will be a service at Rainbow Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 3pm. The service will be officiated by Pastor Richard Cain and Kyle Collins.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Sonny’s memory to Rainbow Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choosing.
The family extends many thanks to the Rainbow City EMS and 9th floor staff of Gadsden Regional Medical Center for their excellent care and kindness during this difficult time.
