Richard Wesley Pinson Sr., 69, passed away Saturday April 15, 2017. Visitation will be Saturday April 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory for Richard Wesley Pinson, age 69, of Gadsden, AL. The U.S. Marine Corps League will officiate.

Richard was a Vietnam War Veteran and loved his country and all that served. He made it clear to his children that his wishes were to be cremated as, “His body will be just an empty shell and his spirit will be in heaven with our Lord”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Grady Lucille Pinson. He is survived by his children Misty (Matthew) Ocean and Richard Wesley Pinson Jr., his grandchildren, Tanner (Tiara) Haynie, Tristan Brooks, and Nicole and Jacob Ocean, along with his very loved siblings, Helen Brothers, Dorothy (Marvin) Beasley, Barbara Broome, Harvey (Caroline) Pinson, and Beth Dial.

Richard was a very loved Daddy, Granddaddy, and Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a fisherman at heart and loved to hang out with his best buddies, Irran Butler and Donnie McGriff. A very special thanks to Edward Mason and The U.S. Marine Corps League, Brother Earl Mitchell and George Broome for commencing the service and Celebration of Life to honor a special man. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Tanner Haynie and Tristan Brooks. A Celebration of Life will follow at Western Sizzlin Steakhouse in Rainbow City.
