

Ruby Sue Roberts, born August 24, 1928 a devoted follower of Jesus Christ went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 21, 2022. She was the daughter of Jim Roberts and Debbie Thompson Roberts. Ms. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Debbie Roberts, and by her five siblings, Carrie Estes (Buster), Margaret Richard (Thurston), Nell Ledbetter (Robert), Jerry Roberts (Sally), and Curt Roberts. She was a lifelong member of Unity Baptist Church, Attalla, Alabama.
Ms. Roberts was a 1947 graduate of Etowah County High School, Attalla, AL. She entered the South Highland Infirmary School of Nursing, Birmingham, Al in 1947 and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1950. She started her nursing career at Lloyd Noland hospital in Fairfield, Alabama, moved to Atmore General in Atmore, AL to gain experience in operating room nursing, moved to UAB in Birmingham, AL, then finished her career back at Lloyd Noland, where she worked for over 30 years as a surgery scrub nurse.
Ms. Roberts never married and had no children. She dedicated her life in service to others, and lived an exemplary Christian life. Whenever a crisis arose, whether with family members or friends or within the community, she was always there to comfort and help. She was beloved by all who knew her. Ms. Roberts is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Nell Roberts (Curt), and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Caregivers Paula Jones, Joan Reynolds, Jeanne Richey, Brenda Steele, Melissa Ledbetter, Canetha Bristol, Paulette Hathcock and Janet Hallmark. We also want to thank Tyler Pence, Amedisys Hospice nurse, for all his kindness and understanding.
Funeral Service will be at 12pm Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Clayborn and Rev. Joe Wise officiating.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 11am until 12pm.
Burial at Duck Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ms Roberts honor to Unity Baptist Church, Attalla, AL.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
