Sandra Swann

She was born in Altoona, AL in 1946 to Mary Ruth Horton. She graduated from Etowah County High School. She married her husband, Danny Swann, in 1965 and they were each other’s lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with two children, Michael Swann and Susan Swann-Shankles.

She was devoted to her family and dedicated herself to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a fondness for pottery, thrift stores, Mexican food, and loved decorating for holidays, particularly Halloween.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Danny Swann, her daughter Susan Swann-Shankles (Phillip), her grandchildren Madeline Mims and Andrew Swann, her great grandchildren, Jackson and Jonathan Swann, her siblings Pete Horton (Vicki) and Gary Horton (Beth), and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Michael L. Swann, her parents, Mary and James E. Horton, and her siblings, Jewel Georgeson, Waylon Bailey, and Burma Grafton.

A service will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla, AL on Friday June 20, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and a celebration of life will begin at 11:00am. Pastor Bo Aaron will officiate.
