Sidney Fitts

Sidney H R Fitts born May 25, 1947 and passed away February 1, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Edith Lemons Fitts; daughter, Gina A. Fitts, Chris G. Fitts; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe B and Lois Fitts. He is survived by his children, Tammy (Mark) Bourg of Piedmont, AL, Crystal Fitts Everett; Jason (Karla) Fitts, and Sidney D Fitts Jr. all of Ashville, AL; sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gladys and Robert Glover of Boaz, AL; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, brothers in law and sisters in law.

Memorial Service will be at 1pm Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Pastor Greg McFall (West Point Baptist Church). Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 until 1pm.

Following the service the family will inter his ashes at Noble Hill Cemetery 701-1359 Sand Valley Rd. Attalla, AL 35954.

Mr. Sidney H. Fitts was born native of Bib County, AL City of Brent. He was a resident of Ashville, AL for 44 years. He was married to his wife, Mrs. Edith Lemons Fitts of 56 years. Sidney was a proud family man, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and father in law. His passion for life, was with his family. He loved life. Loved farming, grass cutting, fishing, TV, gardening, and lived for WWE Wrestling. Sidney was a dedicated man to all whom he met. He would help in all kinds of ways, from tools, food, truck parts to mechanic shop even his neighbors. However, he had a special love for trucking. He drove an 18 wheeler for over 50 years. Sidney "Sid" Fitts (AKA Willie) most truckers called him hauled out of National Cement Plant of Ragland Alabama to several National Cement Customers in GA, TN, MS, SC, NC and FL. So to all you Trucker friends out there. We want to shine a little light your way. We as the Fitts Family will always have Joy for all who rode there for Sid "Ole Willie". So watch out for that Ole 379 Pete. It'll be rolling your way.
