Thomas Peterson

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home for William Thomas Peterson, 84, Rainbow City, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016. Bobby Joe Winningham will officiate. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery, Ashville.

Mr. Peterson owned and operated Peterson's Grocery on Rainbow Drive for 31 1/2 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Peterson.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Hill; granddaughters Leslie Hill and Laura Hill Johnson (Jeremy); great-granddaughters Sydney, Emma and Willa; sister Anita (Eddie) Hill; brothers Ray (Janice) Peterson and Jack Peterson; wife Bettye Ann Boyd; and a host of nephews, nieces and many other family members.

Pallbearers will be Sonny Peterson, Todd Peterson, Brian Peterson, Cody Peterson, Colton Peterson, Moe Colvin, Kenneth Payne, Jeremy Johnson and Scott Barksdale.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and former customers of Peterson's Grocery.

The family would like to thank Gadsden Rehab and Amedisys Hospice for the care they gave to our loved one.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to your favorite charity in honor of Mr. Peterson.
