She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Bob Morgan; parents, Dewey and Vera Mae Stone; brother-in-law, Bill Bass; and her special Aunt Maurine Chandler. She is survived by her children, James (Amanda) Morgan, Todd (Tammy) Morgan, and Vicki (Billy) Lasseter; grandchildren Noah, Zach, Gabrielle, Morgan, Lucas, Micah, and Levi; sister, Kay Bass; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Attalla, she was a proud alum of Etowah High School and Auburn University. She was a lifelong and practically charter member of Cherry St. Baptist Church. She taught at Etowah before helping with this and that at the family business, Bob’s Used Cars.
She was the queen bee of her Red Hat Group and enjoyed Mah Jong and playing bridge at any senior’s group that was throwing cards. A world traveler - she’s been there – she made it to all 50 states. We would like to believe she enjoyed the annual family trip to Gatlinburg the most. It will never be the same.
She loved her little house she and Bob built, her little dog Rosey, milkshakes and donuts, her grandchildren and children. She will be missed, yet we do not mourn as those without hope. We are confident we will see our mother, our MawMaw again. Not because she was a good person-even though she was. Not because she faithfully went to church-even though she did. But because of her relationship with Jesus Christ
Services will be Saturday, April 5 with visitation from 12:30-2:30 with a service to follow. Brother Larry Garrard, her pastor, will officiate. A burial will follow at Mount Lookout Congregational Methodist. Pallbearers will be grandsons and her son-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Special thanks to Southern Care Hospice and her nurse, Tonya Cook.
