

Angela Maria Correia da Silva Pereira was born in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal on October 10, 1939 to Ernesto da Luz and Maria Isabel (Correia) Silva. She married Joe Maria Pereira in San Miguel, Azores, Portugal on November 27, 1960 and shortly thereafter came to the United States to begin a new life with her husband. She proudly became an American citizen in 1966. Angela succumbed to Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and passed away on September 9, 2011, less than 15 months after her beloved husband.
Angela and Joe, had moved to Lincoln in 2006 to be closer to their daughter, Ana, their grandchildren, as well as Angela's eldest sister Cristina Leal and niece, Nelia Lathrom (Jerald).
Angela worked her entire 40+ year career in the health care field. She began as an aide, and eventually became a certified Tumor Registrar. She launched Pereira Medical Registry Services in 1988. She enjoyed her work tremendously and did not plan to ever retire. Angela had enjoyed playing Golf for many years prior to moving to Northern California. "Tita" (pronounced Tee-Tah) as she was called by the majority of the family, will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her only child, Ana Pereira Stevenson, her son-in-law Jeffrey Stevenson and her grandchildren, Hannah and William of Lincoln. She is also survived by her sister Cristina Leal and niece, Nelia Lathrom (Jerald) of Grass Valley; Godson Sean Lathrom (Gay Tokie) of Torrance; sister-in-law Leonor Luz of Fall River, Massachusetts; nephews, Jose Antonio Luz (Ana) of Woodbridge, Virginia; Luis Luz of Fall River, Massachusetts; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gil and Catherine Pereira of Foothill Farms; sister-in-law Leonor Armstrong of Sacramento; and sister-in-law Zilda DaSilva (Lee) of Gustine.
A visitation and Rosary will be held Friday, September 16 at 6:00pm at Chapel of the Hills and the funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn on Saturday, September 17 at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Monterey at the San Carlos Cemetery on Monday, September 19 at 2:00pm.
