

Annette Rosalyn Downing (Paravagna), 95, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2021. Annette was born on March 26, 1926 to Guiseppe “Joseph” and Blanche Paravagna in San Francisco, CA. Annette met her husband, Glen Dale Downing, in 1945. They married eighteen months later on October 8, 1946 the day after he returned from active duty. Together they raised two children, Gail and Patty. She retired from Placer County where she worked as a bookkeeper. Annette lived a full and vibrant life. She was a lifelong San Francisco Giants fan. She also enjoyed camping, water skiing, fishing, playing tennis, bowling, golfing, and traveling. Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in God. She showed God’s love to others by asking, “What can I do to help?” She never sought recognition for the many ways she served which included giving rides, baking pies, ironing clothes, volunteering at church, and donating blood. She was predeceased by her husband, Glen, her parents, and her brother, Charles. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Gavel (Jim) and Patty McNabb, her nephew, Mike, her loving companion, Curt Bartley, seven grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. There will be a private graveside service. A Celebration of Life reception will take place on June 18th from 1:30-3:30pm at the Woodside Village Clubhouse, 12155 Luther Rd., Auburn.
