Arturo Eduardo Anglade

April 10, 1950 – April 17, 2025

Arturo Eduardo Anglade, lovingly known to many as simply “Art,” passed away peacefully at his

home in Meadow Vista, CA on Thursday, April 17, 2025, with his family by his side. He was 75

years old.

Born on April 10, 1950, in Los Angeles at White Memorial Hospital, Arturo was a proud Angeleno

who grew up riding dirt bikes in the hills, racing cars, and building lifelong friendships that stood

the test of time and distance. He attended El Sereno Elementary School, Our Lady of

Guadalupe Junior High, and later graduated in 1968 from Bishop Mora Salesian High School,

an all-boys Catholic school in Boyle Heights. If you knew him, chances are he called you

regularly—whether it was once a week or once a year—just to check in. His phone was always

buzzing, and his heart was always open.

Arturo’s life was built on generosity, grit, and an unwavering dedication to the people he loved.

He was a man who gave freely of his time, his knowledge, and his support. His work ethic was

unmatched—he spent 41 years with Pacific Bell and eventually became the Northern California

Property Manager before retiring in 2015. Even in retirement, he couldn’t help but stay

busy—especially when it came to anything with horsepower.

He married the love of his life, Carol Valdez, on May 17, 1980, at All Souls Catholic Church in

Alhambra, CA. Together, they built a beautiful life and eventually moved their family to Meadow

Vista in 1993. Arturo was a devoted husband, an involved father, and the kind of grandpa every

kid dreams of having. He brought his children into his world with open arms, sharing his love of

racing, his passion for fast cars and bikes, and countless unforgettable trips filled with laughter,

dust, and roaring engines.

He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1973, during the Vietnam War,

aboard the USS Cayuga. Arturo earned several honors, including the National Defense Service

Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the

Combat Action Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in 1975, carrying with him a quiet pride in

his service that he never flaunted—but deeply valued.

Arturo’s resilience in his final years was nothing short of heroic. Starting with a serious battle

with COVID in 2021 that landed him in the ICU, he fought through one health challenge after

another. From a growth on his kidney, to a month-long fight with sepsis in 2022, to beating

esophageal cancer in 2023, he faced each trial with strength and determination. When the

cancer returned in his lymph nodes in 2024, he was given 1-3 years—but put up a valiant fight

for 11 Months. He spent his final days surrounded by family, just as he wanted.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years, Carol Anglade, and their four children:

Vanessa Sevart (and husband Ivan), Michelle Albright (and husband Anthony), Justin Anglade

(and wife Kayla), and Mathew Anglade. He was a proud grandfather to Kodie, Walker, and

Sutton Sevart; Ryker, Wyatt, and Bennett Anglade; and Stetson Albright. He is also survived by

his siblings Diana Watson, Peggy Roman, Tino Anglade, and Greg Anglade, and was preceded

in death by his sister, Roseanne Anglade. Arturo was the beloved son of Justino and Margarita

Anglade, and grandson of Salvador and Elvira Anglade and Maria Jesus Corral.

A funeral mass will be held on **Friday, June 6, 2025, at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic

Church**, 1162 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA 95603. A Rosary will be held the evening before, on

**Thursday, June 5 at 7:00 PM**, also at St. Joseph’s.

A reception will follow the funeral at **2:00 PM at the Blue Goose Event Center**, 3550 Taylor

Rd, Loomis, CA 95650. All are welcome. **Veteran Funeral Honors will be presented at 3:00

PM**, followed by tributes to Arturo’s life and legacy.
