Born December 12, 1933 in Indiana. Carole graduated High School in Drain, Oregon in 1952. She left us at age 80 on August 28, 2014. A longtime resident of Auburn and most recently had resided in the oldest home built in Newcastle since 1999. That home was a labor of love for her and her husband of 35 years, Clyde Rose who survives her. She is also survived by three sons; Bob Marion (Bonnie), Steve Marion, Brad Marion (DeeAnn) and four grandchildren Robert, Alicia, Alyson, Garrett and one great grandchild Cecelia. She is much loved by her extended family, Connie Rose, Tim Rose, Amber Rose as well as her brother Alan Clifton (Kathy) and sister Sharon Antle.
Carole was very active in several bowling leagues locally. She was also a longstanding member of the Auburn Foothills Quilting Guild. Hand stitching quilts was her expertise. She received many rewards over the years but none closer to her heart than the ones given to her by her peers.
Her true passion was travel, having worked in the travel industry for 17 years. She was privileged to visit all corners of the world, many times solo. There was a special place she was very fond of and visited so many times that some of the locals knew her by name. We always wondered if she were to go missing that we knew where to find her, the Tuscan Hills of Italy in the small town of Cortona. We can think of her now and smile and envision her drinking a glass of wine taking in the Italian scenery.
A funeral service will be held at the Newcastle United Methodist Church 410 Buena Vista Ave Newcastle, CA at 11:00 AM. A private burial will follow. Arrangements under the direction of Chapel of the Hills, Auburn, CA.
