Cheryl Linda Gragg, my wife and dearest friend, passed away on June 28, 2025, after a lengthy battle with Bronchiectasis. As a scientist at heart, she refused to let the disease define her as she battled bravely for a quarter of a century until succumbing when all possible avenues of treatment had failed and her energy had been spent.
Cheryl chose to be cremated at Chapel of The Hills Funeral Home and Charles Gragg, her husband of 47 years, is organizing a public memorial on July 30, 2025, at the aforementioned funeral home located at 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, California from 4:00pm to 8:00PM and asks that anyone with fond memories, stories or keepsakes to feel free to attend and share.
Cheryl will be remembered as a witty, intelligent comrade in arms in all the undertakings and endeavors in which she participated. Following graduating from Michigan University with a master’s degree in public health she participated in a variety of Government health programs serving the elderly and low-income families. She capped off her career by starting her own consulting business after meeting and marrying Charles Gragg, her partner in life and business.
Cheryl enjoyed spending time in her garden and was a master gardener. She also loved music and played several instruments (piano, guitar, bass). Cheryl was a true animal person who loved her pet cats and dogs.
Cheryl is survived by three stepchildren, Jeff Gragg the eldest and his wife, Sara. Gregory Gragg and his wife Suzanne and Jeannette Gragg Vance and her husband Michael. In addition, she was blessed with five Grandchildren Emily, Jonathan, Megan, Hayden and William. She was preceded in death by her parents Jean and Wellington Lang and her sister Barbara Munro. Ken Munro, Barbara Munro’s surviving husband (Cheryl’s brother-in-law) and his three sons make up Cheryl’s surviving nephews Scott, Kenny and Stuart.
