I remember when Deena and I met and they moved in next-door to us in Rialto. She was always such a busy person in her work and serving at the church and in ministry with her husband. I remember so many times that we would get together in the morning and have coffee and breakfast together and just share with one another, our lives our kids and what was happening in the church. She had such great wisdom since I had not been following the Lord for a very long time when we met, and she gave me quite a bit to chew on. I loved her fierceness and her confidence in whatever she did and said. Through the years as both of us losing our spouses, we were able to connect on a deeper level and continue our friendship. The Lord knew what he was doing when he put us together and what great fun and laughter we had through the years. And of course, her cooking. I learned so much with her cooking. I will miss you Deana and I will miss our forever friendship.

Deena was the best sister n law anyone could ask for.  She loved my brother and all of us from day one. I remember when my brother met her it was at the Coffee house at the Colton Foursquare Church. Deena was leading worship on her guitar and singing, she had the voice of an angel, and to my brother she was “the angel from heaven”.  He wanted to meet her so he sent me to talk to her and ask her out for coffee sometime.  I did and their relationship took off from there.  They eventually got engaged and Al (my bother) wanted to take her to Nebraska to meet his friends so, they asked me to go along so nothing could be said about them being immoral. Deena was soo sweet she made sure I had plenty of snacks and was comfortable all the way.  When they decided to get married I was asked to be one of her bridesmaids.  She was sooo beautiful. As time went on I got married and we both had children our daughters are close in age so we did a lot of shopping and hanging out together.  Deena was more than just my sister n law, she was my friend and I was able to share anything with her. We prayed together, we laughed together, we sang together, we watched our children grow up together.  I know she is rejoicing with all our family and friends that have gone before her, most of all she sees Jesus face to face everyday. She loved Jesus with all her heart and everyone who came in contact with her knew she did. She was a woman of Proverbs 31 to her husband, children, family, and friends. Even going to Africa to help with her nursing talents.  Deena will never be forgotten and I’m sooo Thankful that I was her sister n law as well as her friend.  Thank you Deena for being Jesus to sooo many….to me too.
