

Born on October 23, 1926 he was raised in Newcastle, CA. Went to Placer Union High School and graduated in 1945. He lettered in Varsity Baseball and Track as a freshman, and later, lettered in Football and Basketball. He was on the two-year championship football team and voted the most outstanding player in the 1943 Kendall Arnett Basketball Tournament.
He served in the Pacific Theater in the US Navy, stationed on the USS Manila Bay Aircraft Carrier.
Upon his return from the Service, he attended Placer College and played local semi-pro baseball with the Auburn Cubs for twelve years with a batting average of 329, and one-year in pro baseball with the Salt Lake City Bees and Stockton Ports.

He was employed with the Telephone Company in Auburn beginning in 1950 and worked as a lineman for four years. In 1954 he was transferred to the Commercial Department in Marysville, CA for four years as an Outside Representative. He was then transferred to Yuba City for three years then moved to Sacramento, CA in 1960. He worked in the Marketing Department on California State Accounts. In 1964 he was transferred to the Government Relations Department and made Manager of the State Capitol Communications Department working with Governors Pat Brown, Ronald Reagan, Jerry Brown, Michael Dukmejian, Pete Wilson and Gary Davis. He also worked with other State Agencies including the State Senate, State Assembly, Lieutenant Governor, and State Controller’s office.
He worked with YMCA from 1961-1968.
He was a member of Loaves and Fishes, Pacific Bell Pioneer Wagoneer’s Travel Club, Newcastle Portuguese Hall Association, L.U.S.O., I.D.E.S., Portuguese Historical and Cultural Society.
Installed in the Northern California Old Times Association Hall of Fame in 1998, LaSalle Club Hall of Fame in 2004, and inducted in the Valley League Hall of Fame.
