

Jim was born in Dixon, California, raised in Auburn, and graduated from Placer High School in 1985. He spent some time in the Bay Area before moving to Roseville in 2004 where he has worked for the San Juan Water District for the past five years. He loved his job at SJWD and had many good friends at work.
"Uncle Jim" enjoyed watching and playing sports, fishing, backpacking, golfing, and spending time with his family. He was the Assistant Coach for his nephew's baseball team in Meadow Vista for five seasons and his niece's soccer team for one.
Jim is survived and will be greatly missed by his parents, Doug and Kim Cagle of Auburn; sister, Karen and brother-in-law, Terry Smith of Meadow Vista; sister, Kathy and brother-in-law, Duane Long of Auburn. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Eric Smith, Jenna Smith, Abigail (Little Buddy) Long, and Charlie Parker Long.
Per Jim's request, a private Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held in Auburn for family. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Auburn Community Cancer Endowment Fund (ACCEF, 11899 Edgewood Road, Suite X, Auburn, CA, 95603). Arrangements under the direction of Chapel of the Hills, Auburn, CA.
