Joyce Maureen Vierra

Joyce was born in Canton, South Dakota, Lincoln County on January 28, 1921. She moved to California with her family after graduating from high school. The family lived in the Bay Area where she met and married August Vierra on October 12. 1940. There they were blessed with two children, Robert L. Vierra and Carole Joan (Vierra) Ryan. In the early 60's Joyce and her husband moved to Middletown, California where they bought a small ranch that they enjoyed very much. After the death of her husband Joyce moved to Auburn, California to be near her daughter and son and their families. Joyce was an active member of Auburn Grace Community Church. She lived for several years at Rock Creek Mobile Home Estates and served as president of the Rock Creek Homeowners Association. Joyce enjoyed being a member of the "Sewers and Rippers" of Auburn Grace Community Church who, who over the years, have made hundreds of quilts that were sent to Africa.

Joyce leaves behind her two children and their spouses Robert L. & Ruby Vierra and Patrick A. & Carole Joan Ryan; 8 grandchildren and their spouses Rick & Christina (Vierra) Palmer, John Vierra, Mark & Linda Vierra, David & Cami Vierra, Lynn Vierra, Chuck & April (Vierra)Yaple, Kimberly (Ryan) Larsen, Kevin & Kristy (Ryan) Pereira and Michael & Rachelle Ryan. Joyce was blessed with 16 Greatgrandchildren. Grandchilldren of Robert and Ruby Vierra are: Jordan, Eden and Cana Palmer, Victoria, Luke, Kristina Vierra, Danna, Duncan and Baylie Vierra, Natalee Vierra, Katie and Joey Vierra. Grandchildren of Patrick and Carole Ryan are: Matthew Larsen, Anthony, Dominick, Cameron Pereira.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Auburn Grace Community Church, 3126 Olympic Way, Auburn, California 95604. Viewing will be at 11:00am with services beginning at 12:00 noon. Lunch will follow at the church.
