She was born in Great Falls Montana. In her early years, she loved ice skating. During WWII, she moved to Portland, Oregon where she worked in a factory making gas masks for the war effort.
During college she met Don and they married in 1949. Their first home was a houseboat on the Willamette River in Portland. They stayed on the river for 3 years.
Later they moved to San Jose where she worked for Pacific Telephone Co. They bought a ranch on the outside of town where she rode horses, raised pigeons, rabbits and you name it. She was very active, indeed.
For many years in San Jose, she was employed as an elementary school secretary and then as the head secretary for a Jr. High School. Still searching, she then became an Electrologist (you ladies know that one). All the time, the family was busy snow skiing (55 years total).
Now it was time to move on, so Marilyn and Don developed the ranch property into 13 lots by themselves. No advisors, No consultants and No sub-dividers (this task took 7 years).
In the 80’s, Marilyn and Don moved to Auburn. Don retired, however, Marilyn wasn't ready to yet. As a result, Marilyn became a travel agent. They travelled all over the world, plus they enjoyed their motor home.
Marilyn has had a wonderful, fulfilling life. Now it's time to move on and be with Jesus, her savior, and be in her final, wonderful home.
Marilyn has a son Larry, and daughter-in-law Bunnie, who will forever love her with all their hearts.
